Me and Lockdown
Lockdown has been a nightmare for all of us, even if we hear this term we all get heebie-jeebies. This ongoing and the past whole pandemic has either changed lives or ruined them.
In this blog, I would be writing my experience with the April-May lockdown of 2020.
The beginning -
The news of the so-called mystery virus was out in the whole world. All eyes were on China and Wuhan where this virus was initially found. No sooner than the world could know, the entire Wuhan was in lockdown(a term that anyone had barely heard of).
Now, the World Health Organization had declared The COVID 19 Virus Outbreak a global health emergency and it was very clear that the imposition of lockdown in India was inevitable.
Then the Janata Curfew was imposed, which was successfully completed and the government was sure that India is all set for a long lockdown.
Modiji and The announcement -
It was 23rd April, Gudi Padwa I and my parents were happily enjoying the day. But, a sudden announcement spilled water all over the happiness of Gudi Padwa.
"आज रात 12 बजे से पूरे देश में 21 दिनों के लिए संपूर्ण लॉकडाउन" was the statement which sent a wave of shock and uncertainty all over the nation.
The lockdown starts-
When I look back today, it seems that staying home was not a very big task. But back then it was a very hard and big task.
I had nothing to do, neither did my parents. Amidst all this, my father and I started doing online courses on udemy which consumed a good deal of my time. Another worth mentioning thing is the thing that consumed the most time was, sleep. First time in my life had I slept regularly for 2 - 3 in the afternoon.
Apart from this daily workout, playing games were the recreational activity that I did during the lockdown.
My mother also cooked some delicacies that she had never tried before, which turned out to be amazing. Some of them were momos, tandoori, Chicken lollipops etc.
The Mahabharat effect -
One thing that I find worth mentioning is the re-telecast of BR Chopra's Mahabharat and Ramanand Sagar's Ramayan.
After the retelecast of Mahabharat, I watched the entire series twice. I liked the series so much that even I made weapons as they were shown in the serial.
This was it for the week, see you next Sunday with a new blog and a new story, till then stay home, stay safe and stay healthy......
Cheers!!!!
