A War Fought off the Battlefield

If anyone says rivalry, the first thing that come to mind is India vs Pakistan, who have fought more than 3 wars and have tense situation on the border even at this moment when I am writing this blog. Delhi and Islamabad have engaged in wars in tense situation various times not only on the the battlefield but in trade and diplomacy.

But the most intense non violent clash is cricket. India and Pakistan match is not just a game of cricket but its an emotion of over 150 Cr. people from both sides of the border. There are only two instances where Indian roads get deserted, one is telecast of Ramayan and Mahabharat(I am talking about the past) and the other is India Pakistan cricket match.

Both teams have fought with each other many times on the the ground but, trust me each time they fight with each other, every time it is like watching a war live, where 11 soldiers have the hopes of 1.3B people and their skills as their ammunition.

It is hard to determine that which team is better, but being an Indian, obviously I will say its the MEN IN BLUE always. If we look at head to heads between both teams, India has been in never defeated by Pakistan in any ICC tournaments except 2017 Champions Trophy. India have defeated Pakistan 7-0 in ICC CWC, with Sachin being the highest run scorer with 303 runs and Vyankatesh Prasad being the highest wicket taker.

Since I started watching cricket, the best knock I have seen was Hitman's 140 against them. Though I don't remember watching that match live, but watching highlights gives the same pleasure every time I watch it.

Apart from emotional connection of the fans with the game, it also provides a diplomatic chance to normalise the ties between two nations. In 2011 CWC, it was Mohali where semi final was played and Prime Ministers of both nations were present and as Sachin said it was one of the first occasions where PMs were present, and as we know, humne unko hara diya!!

Fans of both team always engage in banter on twitter and other social handles, but the only thing Pak fans have to support their team is Champions Trophy win, but they don't know that we have defeated them numerous times, once in CWC semi-final and T20WC FINAL. Undoubtedly, we are superior and always be superior. Their boys play well but our players play their best and always continue to do so.

Now that we are clashing with them today, let us cheer for the MEN IN BLUE and have trust in them. We will definitely win.
