Taking a look back

I have completed my 9th Grade on 14th March 2022 which means a very important academic year is waiting ahead, Grade 10. A year that a normal student anticipates about the most in his whole school life. It is the year that decides the fate of your future education and a year that is full of adventures. Grade 9th, I would say is a transitional class that helps a student to make a transition from the simpler 8th to a more challenging 10th. In this post, I would be writing about how my experiences in std 9th.

Since this year started online, it was definite that the first few months would be difficult and it did happen so. However, in the first few days, I realized that Maths and Physics were very difficult to understand but I went on with my studies without any external tuitions or classes(not a great decision) this was the first challenge that I faced during the year.

As a few months went by, I got nominated for the position of house captain of Red House and subsequently got elected too. This was one of the best things that happened this year. The investiture ceremony couldn't take place the previous year due to Covid but luckily it happened the following year and all the elected captains and vice-captains got their badges on 15th August 2021 but as fate may have it I misplaced that badge somewhere in my house by year-end and I am still not able to find it.

This year I also got to attend a Student leadership Conference organized by KHS, Kothrud along with my few other companions from my school. It was by far one of the best online sessions that I attended. I had fun and also got to learn a lot of things.
I also got an opportunity to be a part of the team that made a Children's special newsletter for the school.

These were the fun experiences and positive highlights of the year. Now let me focus on some of the challenges that I faced during this year.

As I mentioned earlier school being online was the biggest problem of this year. An important year that too online is not a very good combination. But as people say, everything has a silver lining, this situation had one too. After around one and a half years of online schooling, the school opened offline for a brief period which turned out to be a big relief for all those attending the school offline. The post mid-exam was also very difficult and by far one of the most difficult school exams that I have given.

I joined tuition in the second semester and also started giving more attention to Science and math than earlier as I realized that somewhere I was lacing in understanding due to less attentiveness or distraction. English and Social studies were the classes I enjoyed the most as I got many chances to interact and share my knowledge.

As many of my elders have said and from whatever I have experienced, 9th grade is a stage where you need to give your 100%, come what may as it is one of the very important classes. All the concepts that are important from the higher class point of view are taught in this standard and the basic foundation is made strong. I have to say that somewhere I underestimated the importance of this grade in the first half of the year, which was not good. My only advice to the juniors would be that, the 8th must've been easy or difficult, doesn't matter but 9th is very difficult rather very challenging, so give your best, and then the results would be great. Do regular practice (and keep your notebooks complete😜), then rest everything would be easy.
