My Struggles With Online School

On somewhat around 10-12 March 2020, Uddhavji announced a bumper announcement for students, as it felt that time didn't turn out to be enjoyable or beneficial. I was dancing with joy that the schools are closed and there won't be any exams. Time passed and there was a nationwide lockdown with no sign of the schools opening again.
Nevertheless, forwarding the time towards May end, where we still had no idea about school reopening. Amid confusions came an announcement on the class whatsapp group stating the resuming of the school on online platform, MS Teams.
Now to me, who had hardly known about any online meeting platform, everything seemed to be new and confusing. However, when the school informed about classes on MS Teams, I was honestly confusingly skeptical about how the classes will be conducted or how will the assignments be forwarded. This announcement and commencement how online classes brought numerous struggles along with it, about which I will be telling today.

Struggle #1 : Internet Connection

A problem which is no different to anyone was faced by me also. Initially, I had a dongle of jio which had decent speed and connectivity. But when it came to screen sharing it wasn't up to the mark and I had to bare that until wifi was installed.

Struggle #2 : Assignments and Completion

Apart from the other problems I faced, there was huge increase in my procrastination, I was too lethargic in completion of my notebooks, which I never did in my earlier grades and finally I ended up submitting notebooks incomplete(some of them 😂). Now after almost a year I am back on track.

Struggle #3 : Health

Whenever you go to school and meet your friends, you gather positive energy for the whole day, rather whole week. But sitting in front of a screen for 5 hours really tests your patience, till its highest limit. At the end of the day you are tired, bored and frustrated, not really excited for school, which we used to be when it was physical. In August 2021 I spent 2 weeks with a badly paining shoulder. The reason you ask, its because of wrong sitting arrangement and looking at the laptop. Though I move, stretch, play in breaks, it was the case.

Every coin has two sides, similarly alongside struggles, I have learned many things.

Usage of almost every online meeting platform, coordination for projects through online mode, more efficient use of MS programs like powerpoint and word and also I became a more techsavy and familiar with PC and tech.

All in all, at the end, online school is very hard but it has given many new insights and perspectives, now that physical school is starting, I hope everything will get back on track.

Cheers.

Neel
